Glendale Lake: what the 2026 bass survey found

PFBC’s May 2026 Glendale Lake survey provides useful population context for a Cambria County fishing trip. It does not predict today’s catch.

What was measured?

PFBC biologists surveyed Glendale Lake on May 27–28, 2026, using nighttime boat electrofishing. They recorded 245 largemouth bass and three smallmouth bass across 121 minutes of sampling. Largemouth bass measured three to 20 inches.

What does that mean for a trip?

The sample included several size classes, including many seven- to nine-inch largemouth bass. Roughly 32% of sampled largemouth bass exceeded 12 inches. That gives anglers population context; electrofishing catch rates are not the rate you should expect with a rod.

A limitation worth keeping in mind

Biologists also collected panfish, but noted that this method was not their preferred way to assess lake panfish. They planned more targeted sampling for fall 2026 or spring 2027. Avoid treating the preliminary panfish counts as a complete assessment.
